Have a Happy Birthday or Else!

Wednesday was Dale's 6th birthday. We didn't do a whole lot for his actual birthday. Played in the pool, ate chocolate cake, and that's about it. He's having a party with his friends this afternoon and an extended family party Sunday.

Last year I wrote an "All About Dale" post. Most of it still holds true. He still loves people, video games, super heroes, and babies. He enjoys most of the same books, movies, and video games. It's nice to know turning 6 hasn't changed him that much. Don't want him growing up too fast.

He started kindergarten last year, which was a good and bad thing. After we got the mess with his first teacher sorted out he seemed to settle in well. He still had some bad days, but I think overall he enjoyed himself. A couple weeks ago he told me he couldn't wait to go back to school because he missed his friends.

Dale loves spending time with Whig and I. When he plays video games he always wants one of us to come play with him, or at least watch him play. I think it's because he enjoys giving us a running commentary of the game.
They drive each other (and me) crazy, but Dale and Gigi are great buddies.... sometimes.
I love watching them play together.

Dale's favorite thing to do is play with friends. The first thing out of his mouth in the morning (after "I'm starving!") is "Can I play at a friend's house today?" Any time I say no to this request he acts like I just sentenced him to life in prison. Man can that kid pout.

Dale's favorite Uncle is still Whig's brother John (now called Mackle Moo). John hurt his knee? leg? a few months back. When Whig drove up to visit a couple weeks ago Dale wanted to go too so he make sure John was ok.
Dale's latest thing is "forcing" people. He holds up his hand like they do in Star Wars, and he "forces" me or Whig over to him to give him a kiss, while we try to escape his Jedi powers. We never succeed. The force is strong with this one.

Dale's the sweetest boy. Stubborn and sulky at times, true, but he can also be the happiest, most helpful kid around. He's one of my best friends. I love playing and talking with him. He's only been a part of my life for 6 years, yet it's hard to imagine how I ever lived without him.
Happy Birthday buddy.

PS -The title came from this. My kids love watching it.

I can't believe he's 6! I always thought he and Michael were the same age. Give him a high five from Mike and congrats on your thinnerware news. I hope it works out for you!

feliz cumpleanos, Dale-o. Yeah, I spanishified his name too. Not hard to do. Just add o or a depending of the sex of the kid. It's true. That's what Spanish is. an o or a on the end of most words. for example, Heyo, saraha, goodo lucko witho el televisiono showa tomorrowa. =) no jitters, k...o.
